Governor Wike restates commitment to complete Ogoni-Andoni-Opobo Unity road

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has assured  the people of Opobo that the Ogoni-Andoni-Opobo Unity road  will be completed  by his administration as a way developing the economy of the area.

The governor stated  that funding for the project will be sustained because it forms one of the critical empowerment  projects of the administration.

Speaking during the Golden Jubilee Anniversary and Thanksgiving Service of Commissioner-Designate, Sir Tamunosisi Gogo-Jaja at St Barnabas Anglican Church, Port Harcourt on Sunday , Governor Wike said: “This administration  will complete the Ogoni-Andoni-Opobo Unity road because it is necessary  to kickstart the economy  of communities along that route.

“The contractors  are on the  field working  and we are committed to the  funding  of the project. We promised to complete the  project and we shall  complete it. We want to end the situation  where the road is used as an item for endless political  campaigns”.

The governor  who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Engineer Chukwuemeka Woke said that his administration will continue to  execute  key projects  in all the  23 Local Government Areas of the state.

According to him, the 175 Basic Schools being reconstructed and rehabilitated by the Rivers State Government cut all across all Local Government Area.

He added that  work at the General Hospitals in in Opobo and Ngo have reached  advanced stage, pointing out that the two health facilities  will be equipped  to offer quality secondary healthcare  services  to the people.

On Dr Tamunosisi Gogo-Jaja, the governor described  him as a principled  politician who has contributed  his quota to the  development  of the state.

“As majority leader, he served Rivers State  very well. We believe  that  as commissioner, he will also serve the state  very well “, Governor Wike said.

In a sermon, Bishop Emmanuel Oko-Jaja urged Governor Wike to continue with his delivery of democracy dividends. He also asked the governor to base all his appointments on merit.

Celebrant and Commissioner-Designate, Dr Tamunosisi Gogo-Jaja thanked God for the opportunity to celebrate  his 50th Birthday.  He assured  that he  will diligently serve the state.
