Immediate past Governor of Abia State, Sen. Theodore Orji has urged Muslims to reflect on the values of sacrifice in this year’s Eid-el-Kabir to ensure Nigeria’s peaceful existence as a nation.

According to him, the important lessons of Sallah celebration are selfless commitment, full dedication and total submission to constituted authority.
This is contained in a Sallah message signed by his Media Adviser, Don Norman Obinna on Friday 1st September 2017.

Sen. Orji representing Abia central said Prophet Ibraheem demonstrated this in his willingness to sacrifice his only son in accordance with Allah’s commandment which Eid-el-Kabir represents.
He said it is divine that this year’s Sallah came at a time like this when the nation’s peaceful existence is being threatened by hate speeches and discriminations.

“Muslim faithful must use this occasion to pray for the restoration of confidence and faith in the unity of Nigeria.

“They must be worthy ambassadors of their faith by exemplifying all the qualities that distinguished Prophet Mohammed who was epitome of godliness, peace, love and tolerance,” he said.

Sen. Orji further urged all Nigerians to use the occasion to eschew religious and ethnic violence and demonstrate the spirit of tolerance, unity, forgiveness and compassion for fellow citizens as that is the only way the country would move forward.
