Members of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State have endorsed Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and his deputy, Rt Hon Ude Oko Chukwu, for second term in office.
The endorsement followed a well attended PDP stakeholders meeting held yesterday at the party secretariat in Ohafia.
The position of the members of the party was conveyed by the PDP Chairman in the LGA, Chief John Okocha, after the meeting.
According to him, “Governor Ikpeazu has done very well for us in Ohafia LGA all round and treats us as his own people. He has executed phase 1 of Abiriba ring road and mobilized contractors for phase 2 of the project. He also built and commissioned Okon Aku bridge and has dispatched contractors to Abiriba-Nkporo road, Ohafia ring road, Ebem-Timber Shed road, Victor Anya Ude road as well as commenced work at the new Ohafia general market project site.”
Continuing, the party Chairman said “it is fair to say that our people have never had it this good from any administration before now and when you add the number of our people working in Governor Ikpeazu’s administration you will agree that that Ikpeazu’s administration is our administration.
“I therefore call on every Ohafia son and daughter to get ready his or her voters card to re-elect our hard working and humble Governor and his Deputy, who is our son and one of the most effective Deputy Governors in Nigeria, and a very loyal one at that, in 2019.”
Speaking at the meeting, the Deputy Governor of Abia State, Rt. Hon. Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, thanked the members of the party in the local government for their hard work and support for Governor Ikpeazu. He promised to donate a bus to the party for use in mobilizing members and voters.
“My brothers and sisters, I thank you for this meeting and the endorsement of my boss for a second term. Having worked closely with him for these years, I can assure you that he considers Ohafia LGA as his second home and he is always ready to do whatever will make our people happy. Your confidence in him is not misplaced and I assure you that all the projects he has started in our LGA will be completed before 2019”-Deputy Governor Oko Chukwu.
Other party big wigs at the meeting include Chief Umeh Kalu, SAN, Honorable Ukpai Agwu, Chief D K Uduma, Engr John Eke, Honorable Mandela Obasi, Honorable Ifeanyi Uchendu, Chief Fred Eke, Chief Kingsley Imaga, Honorable Otah Odim and many others.
