There are evidence that the crisis-ridden APGA in Abia State is facing extinction as it is currently lying in state, waiting for the undertakers for the interment journey, as the party has been hit by torrent tsunamis in the recent past which suggest that its end in Abia is now.
While the party is yet to recover from the shock and major fracture it suffered following the exit of one of its pillars in the state and Isialangwa South LGA in particular, in the person of Chief Damian Ozurumba (Toto) and his supporters some weeks ago, another very important pillar of the party, in fact the leader of the original and authentic faction of the party, Chief Reagan Ufomba and his supporters across the state are set to finally dump apga for PDP. Recall that Ufomba had months back announced his exist from APGA.
Announcing his return to the PDP on his Facebook wall, Ufomba wrote: “Great Friends Please be my GUEST as my followers and I rejoin our Great Party – The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as follows: Date: Friday, October 27th, Venue: Amapu Ntigha Mini Stadium. Time: 11am prompt. God bless you!”
Note that Chief Ufomba was the winner of the APGA governorship primaries in 2015 before Victor Umeh-led APGA sold-out, and since then, APGA in Abia has been in crisis.
Recall also, that some members of the Abia State House of Assembly, elected on the APGA platform have since dump the party for the ruling party-the PDP. They are; Hon. Clinton Ebere of Aba South State Constituency, Hon. Ifeanyi Uchendu of Ohafia.
According to a PDP chieftain in Abia State, who preferred anonymity, “more people are coming.”
“what you see now is an indication that Abia is a PDP state. More people are coming to join us. We welcome our brothers who are returning home. The umbrella is big enough for all of us. When we say that there is no opposition in Abia we know exactly what we are saying. To some members of our party who are thinking of leaving, we ask them to think twice. The Governor Okezie Ikpeazu PDP led government in Abia is a people’s government instituted by God.” The source said.
There must be something conducive in this big umbrella that every Abian, including the political heavyweights want to be accommodated in.
There must also be something about Governor Okezie Ikpeazu that political heavyweights who left the party long ago, are coming home now.
Welcome Chief Reagan Ufomba.
It will surely end in praise…
