Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has approved the immediate dissolution of the board of Abia State Physical Planning and Infrastructural Development Fund (PPIDF) headed by Barr. Nnamdi Ahaiwe.
The Government condemns in totality and frown at the unfortunate incident at the Aba office of the PPIDF that led to loss of life.
Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has therefore directed Security agents in the state to ensure full investigation of the incident and those found culpable punished according to the law.
Abia State Government will not tolerate any activity, overt or covert, that will lead to the death of any citizen, resident or visitor to the state by security agents or individuals working with revenue collection agencies and contractors.
Henceforth, all revenue collection activities in the state should be managed by Abia State Internal Revenue Service in partnership with the global consultant of the State, Canadian Software Development Corporation (CSDC). Any payment outside this process is illegal and will be sanctioned appropriately.
