The National Coordinator APGA Media Warriors Forum, Evang Chinedu Obigwe, on Saturday warned All Progressives Congress, APC, in Anambra state to play good politics and desist from anything that will cause anarchy in the state.
This came as a result of a report allegedly made by the APC spokesman, Mr. Igboeli Arinze who argued that the state government ought to have contracted the supply of the shuttle buses to Innoson Motor Manufacturing Company, Nnewi, rather going to Austria to get foreign coupling companies to produce tricycles.
His words, “With the impromptu ban on the use of Okada by the present government of Anambra State without giving any consideration to the plight of the people, who have indeed suffered increased hardship following the ban, the APC condemns such an action and does not buy into the bourgeoisie reasons offered by this administration in its deliberate attempts to impose hardship on the people.
This however followed a reaction by the state commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr. C-Don Adinuba, who posited that APC was ignorant of good things governor Obiano is doing in the state.
He said “I do not know why some people are this naive and ignorant. In the first place, the governor did not say he would replace banned motorcycles with tricycles.
He said he would replace them with shuttle buses. “In the second place, Innoson does not manufacture tricycles and that is why I said APC’s reaction was a combative ignorance.
Obiano is the highest purchaser of Innoson Motors as the governor had within a week, ordered 100 Pick-up vans from Innoson and 40 of such vehicles had been received and distributed to security agencies in the state.”
But reacting today Obigwe condemned the postulations of both APC’s spokesperson and its state secretary, saying that the people of the State are currently enjoying the benefits of the ban.
Citing people like Bishop Ezeokafor of Awka Archdiocese, Obigwe said that the cleric applauded Governor Obiano for the ban and opined that it would curb criminality and make the state’s economy viable.
Obigwe further warned APC to cease from inciting comments and statements that would ignite hatred and cause anarchy in the state and advised them to play good politics.
According to him, “APC’s intention to use Okada ban to incite the people against Governor Obiano’s administration has failed.
“The purpose of the Okada ban which is total eradication of crime in the State has been achieved.
Anambra APC leaders should swallow their ego and learn how to play opposition politics from Governor Obiano. You should emulate governor Obiano and learn good politic.
“Opposition politics is not about blackmail and fomenting of troubles, it’s all about constructive engagement. Again learn from Obiano.
“Anambra APC leaders are swimming in the river of political confusion and will soon be drowned because they don’t have responsible leaders that will salvage them.
“The blackmail efforts of Anambra opposition leaders against the working administration of Governor Obiano will yield no fruitful results”, he said.
