2019 : Ohanaeze Ndigbo Endorses Okezie Ikpeazu

The First Ever Imeobi Meeting of the State Chapter of Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo has ended in Umuahia the State Capital with a call on Abians to respect Abia Charter of Equity by keying behind the second term political aspiration of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.

In a communiqué issued at the end of the Imeobi which is the highest decision making body of Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo, the body noted that the adherence of Abia Charter of Equity is very important to sustain peace, unity and development of the state.

The Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo therefore adopted for his future political aspiration and called on those who are seeking the governorship position in the forthcoming general elections from other zones of the state to respect the Abia Charter of Equity by throwing their weight behind Governor Okezie Ikpeazu who is from Abia South.

The body noted that Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo as a social cultural organization and custodians of people’s culture are very interested in the sustenance of peace and development of the state which Abia Charter of Equity represents.

Earlier in his address, the the State President, Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo, Elder Justice R.C Ajuzieogu noted that the group is interested in the sustenance of peace, mutual co-existence of all sections of the state which when adhered to, Abia Charter of Equity is capable of entrenching and called on all to support the political aspiration of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.
Elder Ajuzieogu affirmed that the administration of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has placed Abia on the pedestal of economic growth through infrastructural development.
