Following fresh revelations of politically motivated assassinations and annihilation by the Godswill Akpabio /Nsima Ekere Governorship campaign team in 2011, so many Akwa Ibomites have called for investigations by international human rights organizations.

At a formal ceremony to announce his support for Nsima Ekere’s Governorship in Uyo this week, Senator John James Akpanudoehe fingered Senator Godswill Akpabio as the brain behind the pogrom that led to the death of hundreds of his Supporters in the build up to the 2011 elections.

In an event televised live on National Television Authority,NTA, Udoedehe maintained that the pains caused several families by Godswill Akpabio and Nsima Ekere in 2011 were so grievousl that so many families remained in tears till date, following that genocide.

“Like I told the reconciliation team (led by Gov Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State) that came last week, so many families are still in grief because Akpabio and Ekere chose to destroy our members because of the force that we brought, however I have forgiven them today in the interest of our Party in the next election.”

Sen. Udoedehe maintained that he could not afford to allow his supporters live in Isolation, hence his decision to rally support for Nsima Ekere, so that if he wins, he and his people can also be part of government.

When I started playing opposition in 2009, I came with so much force that Akpabio became scared of me. He could not match my popularity and started killing my supporters,” the former Minister of State for FCT said.

Despite not having up to 300 votes in the direct governorship primaries of the APC held two months ago, across the state Udoedehe insisted that he was surrendering 30, 000 Supporters to Obong Ekere.

Efforts by Senator Godswill Akpabio to debunk the allegation of killings labeled against him were rebuffed by Udoedehe.

While Akpabio said “let me clear the impression created by my brother Senator Udoedehe, I did not kill anybody in 2011, I carried out investigations and…”

At that point Senator Udoedehe grabbed the microphone warning him sternly, “ Akpabio don’t go there, I know what you did to my people, but like I told the reconciliation committee, I have forgiven you so that our party can win.”

A dumbfounded Akpabio could only mutter in a gibberish tone, “OK I will tell Nsima to investigate, the more reason we must join hands to chase Udom away from Hilltop Mansion.”

Corroborating the allegation by Senator Udoedehe, some defecting former executive committee members from APC held a rally condemning the coalition alleged strange bedfellows against Mr. Udom Emmanuel.

The former chapter officials of APC led by Mr. Sunny Uyire at a special rally at Ibom Hall last week, said the peace enjoyed in Akwa Ibom State under Governor Udom Emmanuel was unprecedented in the state’s history.

The former APC officers recounted that they lost so many of their friends who opposed Senator Godswill Akpabio and Nsima Ekere in 2011, elections, and further said that most of those that lost their lives are yet to be buried 7years after.

Most Akwa Ibom people who took to the social media condemn the self-confessed bestiality that characterized that Government from 2007-2015.

They advised International Civil Rights Organizations, Human rights agencies and the country’s Judiciary system to commence full scale investigations to unravel the mystery behind the genocide.
