Wike decries APC Federal Government’s destruction of the National Education Sector

▪Akuku-Toru people declare support for Governor Wike’s re-election

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has declared the failed APC Federal Government has destroyed the nation’s educational foundation by refusing invest in the future of Nigerians.

He said that it is embarrassing that universities and Polytechnics are closed, but the Buhari administration is unconcerned and have done nothing to address the challenges faced by the institutions.

Speaking during the PDP Campaign Rally at Akuku-Toru Local Government Area on Friday in Abonnema, Governor Wike urged Nigerians to vote Atiku Abubakar who understands the relevance of education to national development.

‘Buhari government hates education. That is why universities and Polytechnics are closed and there is no serious engagement with the unions.

“This failed administration refused to build on the successes of the PDP administration in the education sector . They went ahead to destroy all the successful works for stability in the education sector .

“Nigerians should vote Atiku Abubakar because he has shown commitment to education. He understands the importance of education “, he said.

The governor said that PDP will address all the failures and challenges imposed on the country by the APC Federal Government.

Governor Wike said that he is linked to Akuku-Toru by political association because most of the people who supported his first term bid are from the area.

He assured the people of more projects during his second term. He noted that he will complete the Abonnema Ring Road and other key projects.

The governor praised the member representing Akuku-Toru State Constituency 1, Engineer Major Jack for executing quality constituency projects in the area.

Governor Wike walked through the streets of Abonnema town, appreciating cheers from the people as they sang his praises.

Rivers State PDP Chairman presented the PDP Candidate for Rivers West Senatorial District, Mrs Betty Apiafi, PDP Candidate for Akuku-Toru/Asari-Toru Federal Constituency, Boma Goodhead, PDP Candidate for Akuku-Toru State Constituency 1, Engr Major Jack and Mr Lolo Isaiah Opuende of PDP Candidate for Akuku-Toru State Constituency 2 to the people for their support.

He expressed happiness that the people of Akuku-Toru Local Government Area are solidly behind Governor Wike. He said that the people have shown their undying love for the Rivers State Governor as a brother.

PDP Candidate for Akuku-Toru/Asari-Toru Federal Constituency, Boma Goodhead said PDP will win all the positions the forthcoming elections.

Constituency, Boma Goodhead, PDP Candidate for Akuku-Toru State Constituency 1, Engr Major Jack said all the projects he nominated were completed. He assured the Rivers State Governor that the people will deliver all the PDP candidates.

Former Minister of Sports, Dr Tammy Danagogo said Governor Wike is a lover of the people of Kalabari people, working for them.

He said that Akuku-Toru people will demonstrate their love for Governor Wike through massive votes during the forthcoming general elections.

He noted that Buhari is a curse to the People of Rivers State. He said that the APC Federal Government has closed down the seaports in all parts of the state.

Commissioner of Culture and Tourism, Mrs Tonye Oniyide Briggs said that people of Akuku-Toru Local Government Area will not be deceived by fake stories as the people will remain with the Rivers State Governor all through the elections.

Former Commissioner of Works, Mr David Briggs said that Akuku-Toru people are totally for the re-election of Governor Wike and the election of Atiku Abubakar as President.

Leader of Oceania, Chief Hope Opusingi said the Wike movement is a success and the people of Oceania have benefited from projects and appointments.

The Chairman of Rivers State PDP Campaign Council, Chief Ferdinand Alabraba said that Governor Wike has stabilised development and growth in the state.

He said that Governor Wike’s work is yet to be completed, hence he needs a second term to consolidate development in the state.

Anabraba said that Governor Wike should be allowed to conclude his second term before an Ijaw will take over.

Chairman of Akuku-Toru Local Government Area, Hon Rowland Sekibo said the area belongs to Governor Wike. He said that the day is a moment of appreciation.

He said the people in 2015 saw the capacity of Governor Wike, which has manifested in key projects across the 23 Local Government Areas.
