The crisis rocking the All progressives Congress APC in Zamfara State seems to be degenerating as the Senator Marafa led faction of the party in the State has threatened to boycott the party’s presidential campaign rally scheduled for Sunday February 3.

This threat comes as INEC excluded Zamfara from its list of Candidates contesting the February 16 National Assembly Elections and that of March 2 Governorship and state House Assembly polls.

Senator Kabiru Marafa who was at the State House on Friday to brief the President on the political situation in Zamfara State advised President Buhari to shun Sunday’s rally in the state citing sharp division within the party as reason for his position.

Senator Marafa who has been at loggerheads with his state Governor Abdulaziz Yari said should the President Buhari attend the rally on Sunday his group would organise a separate event for the president on a later date.

The APC in Zamafara state has since April last year been embroiled in a serious political crisis in the wake of parallel congresses that led to several litigations which forced INEC to disqualify party candidates in the state from participating in the general elections.
