Before 1999, Chief Orji Uzor kalu a well know 419 man) called some Bende leaders and claimed that he was then richer than Abia State and pleaded with them to support him to become the Governor of Abia State. Accordirg to him, he was no longer into 419 and promised to make
old Bende and Abia a pride of place in terms of infrastructural developmert and appointment of our people into positions of authority.
The Old Bende machinery went into action and convinced Abians that he OUK was a man of the moment and integrity.
Eight years after Chief Orji Uzor Kalu presided over Abia State as Executive Governor which he spent 7 trillion naira, Abia North has nothing to show for it except his mother, himself, his brothers and lgbere community who ab initio where opposed to him due to his dubious and
quarrelsome character).
The following Facts speaks of Chief Orji Uzor Kalu’s deceit of old Bende People and call for his rejection at the February elecion by Abia North Senatorial District.
1. As soon as Orji
Uzor was sworn in as Governor his mother became Tigress who humiliated
captains of Industry, technocrats, top cvil servants and intellectuals who visited Nweke street to meet with the Governor by subjecting them to (lgba egusil pealing of melon.

2. With the enthronement of mamacracy, Chief Orji Uzor Kalu i.e Kalu’s dynasty converted all key appointments in to private ventures of the family aimed at using appointees as instruments of
stealing funds of Abia State and favouring their lgbere kith and kin. For instance, 14 permanent secretaries appointed by Orji Uzor Kalu 11 were from Igbere while 3 were from Abia North made up of 5 local government areas.
Some of the (lgbere) permanent secretaries were not qualified and came from the local government system to be made permanent secretaries.
The result is that today many large communities that have many directors such as Alayi, item, Abiriba etc have no permanent secretaries in the service then when he was Governor.
3: Chief orji Kalu has his position as Governor to illegally, and forcefully aquire the land of all the communities that have common bouridaries with lgbere namely Ozuitem, Alayi, Item, Umuhu
Ezechi and Abiriba.
For instance in the land where the NYSC Abia State Orientation camp is sited
belongs to item but he used his former girl friend judge to secure judgment at the high court that the land belonged to lgbere when there is a supreme court decision saying it belonged to Item people.
4. All the infrastructural facilities meant for Abia North during Chief Orji Uzor Kalu’s administration were selfishly executed by him in lgbere. Out of 59 roads that were constructed or reconstructed 52 were carried out in lgbere including construction of roads leading to toilets and shrines in lgbere.
This has left most communities in Abia North with dusty and bad road
the communities include Ugwueke, Ezeukwu, Alayi, Item, Ohafia, Arochukwu, Isuikwuato and Umunneochi.
The few roads he built in these communities and Aba have all gone bad or have pot holes while the ones he built in lgbere are still good.
