In the Igbo diction,if you greet someone before undertaking a journey, it becomes most imperative for the person to say WELCOME,as you come back. It is no longer news that Dr OKEZIE IKPEAZU has been formally declared the winner of the March 9th,2019,governorship election, with an unprecedented landslide. Scoring 261127 votes, while Dr Uche Ogah of APC,his closest opponent, scored 99574 and, Dr Alex Otti of APGA came a distant third with 64366 votes.

The outcome of that contest was indeed a prayer answered, especially for Ukwa/Ngwa people. The Almighty God,who is a God of justice, peace and equity, proved Himself once again by honouring His word.

Today, Dr IKPEAZU,the Governor of Abia state, of Ukwa/Ngwa political bloc will eventually govern for eight good years.Just the way Dr Orji Uzor Kalu and Chief T.A. Orji did. This has indeed restored the trust of the Ukwa/Ngwa nation in the Abia polity, which became grossly endangered and threatened the peace, security and development of the state before and during the election.

The inviolable tranquillity that this victory has unveiled is unimaginable. It has likewise thoroughly passed the message that a people committed and united for a genuine and justifiable cause, will assuredly and undoubtedly triumph.

The cohesion and unity exhibited by the Ukwa/Ngwa people in that justifiable pursuit for justice and equity was unmatchable. Although we had some pockets of dissidents here and there and, it was naturally expected.Anaghi ezu ezu ahazi ala(You don’t need everyone before the land is sanitized)

I just pray and hope that this prevailing unity becomes more solidified and comprehensively consolidated.

I equally thank our friends, colleagues, allies,in-laws and well wishers of Old Bende political bloc, especially our beloved friend, the humble and supportive Deputy Governor of Abia state, Rt Hon Sir Ude Oko Chukwu for believing in our cause.

You have truly displayed the unadulterated spirit of NWANNE DI NA MBA(A brother in a distant land). We appreciate you all.Now that the election has been won and lost, it has become absolutely expedient for anyone who participated positively or negatively in the excruciating struggle, to endeavour to put that behind now.

Truly, there are lots of works yearning for attention in the state.Gladly, the Governor Dr IKPEAZU isn’t unmindful of the magnitude of the task ahead, as he has already and visibly laid the infrastructural and socio-economic foundation of the state, awaiting total execution and consolidation.

The issue of salaries will equally receive his fullest attention and satisfactorily addressed.

Every Abian and non Abian living and doing business in the state will eventually show profound appreciation to God for giving us Dr IKPEAZU.

I therefore join numerous other patriotic Abians to solicit the cooperation of Dr Uche Ogah and Dr Alex Otti,by ensuring that the resources badly needed to enhance the development of the state and pay workers are not unnecessarily frittered away through expensive and unfruitful legal tussles.

Abia remains one big FAMILY, hence all hands should be on deck now to enable the Governor, Dr OKEZIE IKPEAZU, concentrate fully and to continue to render quality service to all manner of people living and doing business in the state.

Let us therefore put all that transpired before, during and after the elections behind, by pulling all our strength and resources together, for a better, peaceful, prosperous, secure and united Abia state. God bless our victorious Governor, Dr OKEZIE IKPEAZU. May God console and divinely replenish the pockets of Dr Uche Ogah and Dr Alex Otti.

May God bless Abia state.

Congratulations,our dear Governor. Congratulations,Abia state.

To God be all the glory. Elder GOC NNAJI.I write from Nbawsi,Nsulu,Isiala Ngwa North,Abia state,Nigeria
