Fuel hike in Bayelsa: Ijaw youths protests against Federal Government.

Ijaw youths from Bayelsa state at the early hours of today, staged a peaceful protest at the Bayelsa office of the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), a parastatal under the federal ministry of Petroleum, responsible for price regulation of petroleum products.

Recently, there was an increase in PMS price at petrol station, from #143 to #160.

The youths decried that the Federal government was not doing anything to ease the fuel hike situation in Bayelsa, they accused the state DPR of complicity.

Leading the protests, was SEN. E. Mitin, he called on the agency to live up to it’s responsibility.

Their placards carried inscriptions such as; “DPR is inactive in Bayelsa”, “DPR in Bayelsa is compromised”, “Wake up Federal Government”, etc.
