It was indeed a rude shock for many in the Eastern heartland, Imo state, Nigeria, as the Apex court of the land sent the embattled Mbaise political player, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha parking from Douglas house, the State’s seat of power. How the big boys in APC maneuvered their way still remains a big surprise to many.

They still could not imagine how a gubernatorial candidate who came a distant fourth in the March 9, 2019, gubernatorial election in the State has become the Governor of the State overnight. Many are still yet to come to terms with the reality on ground. They are still yet to come to terms with how they saw their mandate being snatched from them in broad daylight.

In the previous political dispensation in the state, especially when the Ogboko born political kingpin in APC, Owelle Rochas Okorocha held sway as the governor of the State, the inhabitant of the eastern heartland witnessed a lackluster type of administration, with institutions built on the altar of ‘familitocracy’, recklessness, propaganda and outright neglect and disregard for the rule of law which has remain the style of the APC. It was indeed visible to the blind and even audible to the deaf.

The emergence of the former lawmaker Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha as the Governor of the State before his sack by the Supreme Court became a beacon of hope to imolites. Within the few months he held sway as the governor of the state, imolites were able to smile again. Pensioners were paid a tangible sum of their pension arrears. Road contracts were awarded. One could tell from the action of his administration that the Mbaise man with a green cap meant well for imolites and the resident of the eastern heartland were already enjoying the dividends of democracy.

It is an open secret that the APC style of governance is characterized by political jingoism, impunity and lacks a clear cut agenda. The sudden return of the big boys in the State lives many to envisage doom and a retrogressive style of governance. A cursory look at the pictures of today’s peaceful protest against the unpopular judgment of the Supreme Court littered all over this blogosphere has made many to begin to erroneously ask on this blogosphere like the biblical wife of Job, if God has suddenly abandon imolites. The facial expressions of the mammoth crowd show that they don’t need hope nor Hope but reality.

As it stands there is no other court to appeal again. But God is more supreme than the so-called Supreme Court. The supreme court of God is the way forward for this case. God is much more interested in Imo State. Imo must be better.
