COVID-19: Obuah Dismisses Okumgba’s Attack On Wike As Erratic, Non Sequitur

The outgoing Rivers State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Bro Felix Obuah says taking advantage of Gov Nyesom Wike’s necessary and expedient actions to contain the spread of the dangerous and mysterious Coronavirus in the State to insult and cajole his person is to say the least, erratic, stupid and short sighted.

Bro Obuah in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Jerry Needam made the declaration against what he described as fallacious publication credited to one Okumgba, supposedly the megaphone of the non-functional All Progressives Congress, APC, in the State on measures so far put in place by Gov Wike to checkmate the spread of the disease in the State.

The State outgoing PDP Chairman regretted that in a time like this when all civilized persons, men and women with conscience across the globe have set partisan politics apart to fight this common enemy to save humanity from impending extinction, political neophytes in the mould of Okumgba see the situation as an opportunity to whip up partisan and primordial sentiments at the expense of the people’s lives.

Bro Obuah said the fallacy of Okumgba though non-sequitur has rather exposed his emptiness and the cannibalistic fatalistic prayers of his paymasters, the masses of Rivers people will be grateful to Gov Wike when the storm is over that he took the right step for the greater interest of Rivers people and residents alike by timely shutting down the borders, closing down the major markets, etc for a short while.

“The anger of Okumgba and his paymasters however, is that despite the stampede, the conspiracies and wishful thinking of political detractors of the God-sent Governor, the pandemic has not spread in the state, let alone recording any death to the glory of God”, the outgoing party chairman noted.

Rather than jumping to irrational conclusion about the palliatives and the methodology of distribution, Bro Obuah said Okumgba and his benefactors should have waited in the absence of any meaningful contribution to make, and see how a visionary leader, and concerned Governor would ensure that the effects and other consequences of the Coronavirus are made available to the people.

He wondered why someone who claims to know better would want the state enmeshed in glaring cataclysm occasioned by the coronavirus and her people hospitalized, before it becomes necessary for the federal government to intervene even when the resources being deployed to other affected states are coming from Rivers State, stressing that such reasoning is below animalistic.

“No wonder the Bible has warned that the tongue of the wise commends knowledge but the mouth of the fool is folly. In no other has this proverb found a better expression than in Okumgba’s diseased idea, an argumentum ad ignorantiam”, Bro Obuah declared.

The outgoing State PDP Chairman said though nothing contrary should have emanated from a warped mind with little or no knowledge about the essence of life but to please his paymasters, the Rivers people should be reassured that the measures so far taken by Gov Wike-led government were to safeguard the people against possible annihilation by a new disease that has claimed hundreds of thousands of lives elsewhere and still counting.

“Coronavirus has been globally described as the worst threat to mankind since the end of World War II. The wide-fire-like spread, the ease with which it kills its victims, defying all medications and not sparing even the medics is mysteriously alarming”, the outgoing State PDP Chairman lamented.

He prayed that at the end of it all, Rivers State will be counted as one of those with no loss of life as the reward for the pains of what we are unavoidably going through this period courtesy Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike and to the glory of God.
