A group, Concerned Afemai Network, CAN, has berated the national Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC, calling on President Muhammadu Buhari to caution Adams Aliu Oshiomhole before he plunged Edo into unceasing violence.

Dr. Joel Sanni Audu, the spokesperson of the group made this call shortly after the screening committee of the party alleged that the present governor, Godwin Obaseki was not qualify to contest for the party’s primary election slated for 22nd of June. It stressed that the fight Oshiomhole is waging is against President Buhari for Oshiomhole’s godfather in Lagos, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

It stated further that the attempt by the national Chairman to use his office to destabilize Edo and Ondo state should be frown at because the consequences are too glaring for anyone to escape if urgent actions are not taken to arrest the situation before it consume everybody in the party.

The group said as an Afenmai Ambassador, they thought Oshiomhole would have used his power to influence projects to Edo. Rather what they see is action capable of further dividing the party for the satisfaction of just one man who believes the party belong to him alone.

It said the attempt to create problem between Afenmai’s and the Bini’s by Oshiomhole should be resisted as this are groups who have lived peacefully together without any form of friction or the other. He stressed that subjugating the views of the people should not be the way out as that will mean the essence has been defeated.

” The Binis supported Oshiomhole to be governor for eight years. We are no longer comfortable with the way Oshiomhole is using his position as national chairman to cause crisis in the state. A situation that the Binis will start fighting the Afenmai or Afenmai will start fighting in the streets of Benin”.

The group however call on President Buhari to call the national Chairman of the party to order before Edo state turn to theatre of war and violence as this may further leads to loss of lives and property. It is said this is the time for the president to wade in and show real leadership and shouldn’t allow the interest of the few to hold the party to ransom.
