Governor Godwin Obaseki has engage president Muhammadu Buhari over his disqualification by the APC screening Committee panel for the Edo governorship primary election.

A top Government Official in Edo State, said this while reacting to the verdict of the Committee, which was widely speculated as a negative force.

He alleged that the findings of the panel report, served the interest of a political jobber who rose from bottom to the apex level of the party on the plank of internal democracy, yet made fruitless attempts to fritter the goodwill of the party in Edo State away for his own selfish reasons.

He revealed that Obaseki expressed his displeasure on the verdict of the panel in protest letter to President Buhari who is the leader of the party for urgent intervention.

Recall that the incumbent Governor predicted that he may not get justice in the screening Committee when he appeared before it on Wednesday in Abuja.

The Official who craved for anonymity, quoted Obaseki has rubbished rumours of his defection from the APC to another political party to seek re-election ahead of the APC primaries in the State despite his disqualification.

The source assured that Obaseki has vowed to resist the undeniable plot by the national Chairman of APC, Adams Oshiomhole to knock him out of his party.

Meanwhile, leaders of APC Edo State have been invited to an emergency meeting on Saturday in Benin City, to review the decision of the panel report which disqualified Governor Obaseki.

The meeting which is at the instance of the Governor, is expected to reset ties on a range of issues ahead of the party primaries and the September 19, 2020 Governorship in the State.

Crack team Naija recalls that “It baffles me that “when Obaseki was in good terms with Oshiomhole, his academic documents were correct. APC cleared him and he won the Governorship.

“Now that Obaseki fell out with Oshiomhole, the same documents he submitted four years ago suddenly became “fake/defective.”
