Cross River Government Suspends Resumption Of Schools Till Further Notice

The trial resumption of Schools in Cross River State has been suspended indefinitely by the state Government.

Although the reason for the suspension was not stated but one of the
Schools, the West Africa Peoples Institute (WAPI), where students initially showed up was hurriedly shut after government directives

The Principal of the school who refused to speak with Journalists was also seen rushing into her car after a clear instructions to leave the compound immediately.

The State COVID-19 Taskforce team who were sharing face masks at the premises also spoke with some of the students,they later left in disappointment

The State Commissioner for education,Dr Godwin Amanke refused to speak with AIT when contacted on phone. Findings however revealed that Federal Government had allegedly directed Cross River not to open schools at the period when COVID-19 is on the increase in the country even though the state is yet to get a confirmed case.
