The Abia State House of Assembly has received a letter from Governor Okezie Ikpeazu requesting the screening and confirmation of the recently announced commissioner-nominees.
This was disclosed by the Speaker, Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, during the plenary on Tuesday.
The Speaker, after reading the letter from the governor, directed the Clerk to inform the commissioner-nominees to make available necessary documents to his office.
Orji further directed the Clerk to relay a date when the nominees will appear before an ad hoc committee of the House before doing same in the plenary for their screening.
Recalls that Ikpeazu had nominated new commissioners to assist his administration in the dispensation of democracy dividends to the people through policy formulation and implementation.
The new commissioner-nominees are, Mazi Donatus Okorie, Ndom Godwin, Chief Okezie Erondu, Professor Ikechi Mgbeoji, Karibe Ojigwe, Chief Mrs Uwaoma Olewengwa, Prince C.O.Enweremadu, Barrister Charles Esonu, Chief Chinagorom Nwankpa, Hon. Monday Ajaegbu, Mr Sopuruchi Bekee and Deaconess Rose Urenta.
Others are, Chief Kingsley Imaga, Chidiebere Uwagwu Kalu, Barrister I.C. Mark, Chief Chisom Nwachukwu, Chief Eze Nwanganga, Barrister Tony Nwanmuo, Barrister Sam Nwogu, Dr Chidi Onwuchuruba, Ugochukwu Emezue, Mrs Adaku Oseiza, Barrister Eze Chikamnayo, Chief Godswill Nwanoruo, Prince Obinna Okey, Chief Ukwu Rocks Emma and Barrister C.C. Emelogu.
