In the past weeks following the conduct of our Party’s primaries, we have continued to engage all our members who participated in the exercise either as aspirants, supporters, delegates or Party members; all in the spirit of reconciliation.

This engagement is in recognition of the fact that in times like this, we are bound to have disagreements and misunderstandings on who gets what, when, why and how. The Party duly admits that some members, including their supporters who did not achieve their ambitions are aggrieved in one way or the other.

The Party also acknowledges and has always maintained that victory for one is victory for all and has been making efforts to reconcile every member with one another in pursuit of our goal of not just winning elections from bottom to top in 2023 but also to remain as one big happy family we are known for.

Thankfully, the process of reconciliation is already yielding results following the acceptance of hands of fellowships between contestants across all levels of the contest in all parts of the State.

Last week, our Party’s guber candidate Prof. Uchenna Ikonne paid a visit to one of the guber aspirants, Chief Elvis Ncheta Omerekpe who received him with a warmth devoid of political bitterness. Prof Ikonne continues to be at the forefront of this laudable effort, a testament to his leadership quality as a team player.

Before then, Chief Lucky Igbokwe also known as Don Lulu had congratulated Prof. Ikonne on his emergence as the gubernatorial candidate of our Party and promised to work with others to ensure he wins the 2023 guber contest.

Similarly, Lady Love Ezema had congratulated Deputy Speaker Ifeanyi Uchendu on his emergence as our Party’s flag bearer for the 2023 Arochukwu/Ohafia federal constituency contest and promised to fully support his victory at the polls.

In the same vein, Chief Ike Onyeweaku last week congratulated Chief Chinwe Nwanganga who emerged as the flag bearer for the Osisioma/Obingwa/Ugwunagbo federal Constituency and promised to join hands with others to deliver him.

Conviviality returned to Isuikwuato/Umunneochi federal constituency as Hon. Chukwudi Ogele, former Abia State House of Assembly member congratulated her opponent Barr. Mrs. Loveth Ofoegbu on her emergence as the Party’s candidate for the contest.

And just yesterday, Councillors from fourteen Wards in Arochukwu LGA endorsed the candidacy of Austine Emeka Bonny (De Lazz Inc.) for the 2023 Arochukwu State constituency and promised to give him massive support for his victory in the forthcoming election.

Many more of such goodwill spread the political landscape of Abia which we cannot mention here but are encouraged immensely by the outpouring of solidarity amongst members of our great Party.

The Party reiterates that a win by the PDP is a win for all and we continue to call on our members to join hands with the State leadership of the Party to ensure that we maintain our lead in the State and make the PDP, the default Party in Abia State.

PDP- Power to the People

Signed

Hon. Elder Amah Abraham

State Vice Chairman/Acting State Publicity Secretary
