The newly signed Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount has explained why he left Chelsea to join the Red Devils.
Mount, a Chelsea academy product, left Stamford Bridge for the Theatre of Dreams a few days ago in a move that appeared as a surprise to many football followers.
The summer signing told MUTV: “Several months ago I think it became clear that I wasn’t in Chelsea’s plans moving forward.”
He further explained that he knew Manchester United were interested in him, and as such, it was easy to make a decision.
“It’s a massive club; huge, iconic players have played here, and I wanted to be a part of that from the beginning. Getting in early, ready for pre-season to start, was a main objective of mine as well,” he said.
