Buni declares Wednesday work free day in Yobe to honour late former Gov Bukar Ibrahim

In honor of Sen. Bukar Abba Ibrahim, the late state governor of Yobe, Wednesday, February 7, 2024, has been designated as a work-free day by Governor Mai Mala Buni.

In a statement released on Tuesday by his spokesperson, Mamman Mohammed, Buni said that the day should be dedicated to praying for the former governor who passed away in Saudi Arabia on Sunday.

He asked the state’s populace to use this time to offer prayers for the late governor’s soul to rest.

The Government House Mosque in Damaturu will host prayers for the late former governor for three days. The governor passed away and was buried in the Holy Land.

In honor of the late governor, the Yobe State Government has formally assumed control of the burial and condolence ceremonies.

At the Government House in Damaturu, Buni has been receiving condolences from supporters both inside and outside the state, together with government representatives and the late governor’s family.
