Legendary Nigerian Austin Jay Jay Okocha has encouraged his nephew Alex Iwobi to “keep going” after his country’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final loss to Ivory Coast last Sunday because to cyberbullying.

On Tuesday, Okocha expressed gratitude to God on his Instagram account and prayed for Nigeria and those who only see negativity and hatred in others.

The former midfielder for Paris Saint-Germain stated, ‘’I pray for my country Nigeria and the people that can only hate and see nothing good in others, when effort counts for nothing. Treat people the way you want them to treat you, all we have in this life is each other.

“We love you #alexanderiwobi and we keep going no matter what they say, the Lord is good all the time and we trust that his will be done in our lives amen.”

It was stated that several spectators made offensive comments to Iwobi after the match because of his performance against the Elephants.

After the AFCON final, the Fulham player acknowledged deleting their social media accounts.
