Following a new attack on the Kajuru-Station community in Kajuru Local Government Area, Kaduna State, terrorists abducted 87 persons on Sunday night.

On Monday, Harisu Dari, a member of the Kajuru-Station Youths, verified the occurrence.

According to Harisu, the terrorists broke into several establishments and took food and other valuables when they assaulted the village at around ten o’clock at night.

The attack happened just two days after a man and fifteen women were kidnapped in the same local government’s Dogon-Noma neighborhood.

Tension in the state has arisen as a result of Kajuru and Chikun LGs becoming the epicenter of kidnapping during the last two weeks.

According to Harisu, there has been no communication made with the 87 residents who were kidnapped on Sunday night.

“As of the time I visited the community this morning, security operatives have not been drafted to help restore the confidence of the villagers.

“The villagers are traumatized by the sad development. The government needs to re-strategise in tackling these terrorists,” he said.

It was stated that more than 172 local villagers had been abducted by terrorists in the previous two weeks.

As of the time this report was filed, ASP Mansir Hassan, the state police public relations officer, had not responded.
