Nigerian defender Kenneth Omeruo is adamant that his countryman Ademola Lookman ought to take home the 2024 CAF Player of the Year title.
Lookman stole the show on Wednesday night as Atalanta overcame Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 in the UEFA Europa League final.
In the exciting match, the deft winger netted all three goals for Gian Piero Gasperini’s team.
The 26-year-old made history by becoming the first player from Africa to score three goals in a major European competition final.
Earlier in the year, Lookman was also instrumental in Nigeria’s performance to finish in second place at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The former Leicester City and Everton player finished the competition with three goals in seven games.
