Senator Wabara is now an Institution, we are ready to honour him come 1st June in grand style —Former Abia Deputy Governor Oko Chukwu

Immediate past Deputy Governor of Abia State Rt Hon Sir Ude Oko Chukwu has described the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) and Former Senate President Senator Adolphus Wabara as an institution and a worthy leader who has contributed his quota to the development of Abia State and Nigeria in general.

Sir Oko Chukwu made this known on Monday while addressing Journalists over the planned Grand Civic Reception in honour of Senator Adolphus Wabara scheduled to hold the 1st of June 2024 at the Trade More Event Centre Umuahia for his contributions in the development, peace and progress in Abia and the Country.

“What people don’t know about, is that This man was once a councilor, a supervisory Councilor, Chairman of a Local Government Area and from there he was elected as the Senator Representing Abia South Senatorial District and the Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria”

“This is the very appropriate time for us to let him know that we appreciate his contribution in Nigeria and in particular the PDP family,We are going to role out the drum to accord him this great reception, for us in PDP, we feel he will be able to turn things around going forward It is not just an Abia thing, it’s a National things”

“So on the 1st June 2024 at Trade More Event Centre in Umuahia, the National body of PDP will be coming, the Acting National Chairman will be here and the Vice Chairman of Nigerian Governor’s Forum Governor SEYI Makinde will be the Chairman of that event”

The Immediate Past Abia Deputy Governor Ude Oko Chukwu who is also the Chairman of the Central Planning Committee of the event said his committee has put everything in place to ensure that Senator Adolphus Wabara is honored in grand style.

“On this part of the committees, everything is in top gear and God helping us it, will be an epic making event”

“The main essence for us is to honour him and for us as a party we know we will harness the event accordingly, 1st June 2024 Coincides with his 76th birthday celebration and it’s all about honoring”

Answering Questions from Journalists if the PDP was worried over its members that has resigned from the party in Abia and joined other Political Parties, Sir Oko Chukwu said the party is not missing those who has abandoned them to different parties.

“We are not missing those who left PDP,infact in our last Stakeholders meeting, we didn’t even feel their absence, If they are some people who have left assuming that there are vacuums created,definitely others will fill it”

He said Senator Adolphus Wabara is now a statesman and institute who will also stand by his party at the appropriate time.

On his part, a Former Member of the House of Representatives who represented Ukwa East and West Hon Uzoma Abonta said the Commitee decided to celebrate Senator Adolphus Wabara to let Nigerians and party members know that Abia has produced a giant.
