Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, urged President Bola Tinubu to fire Mele Kyari, the group chief executive officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), on Monday.

Primate Ayodele said that of Tinubu fails to dismiss Kyari and reform the NNPC, the price of fuel would climb to N1200/litre.

The well-known prophet said that the development threatens the long-term viability of the nation’s gasoline supply in response to NNPCL’s admission that the corporation owes “significant debt to petrol suppliers.”

It has been stated that Nigeria’s gasoline shortage has gotten worse due to a $6 billion debt the NNPCL owes fuel suppliers.

The “financial strain has placed considerable pressure on the company and poses a threat to the sustainability of fuel supply,” according to NNPCL spokesman Olufemi Soneye on Sunday.

Primate Ayodele responded by saying on X that Tinubu should be removed from the NNPC if he has nothing to do with Mele Kyari. The NNPC has to be reformed since it is a corrupt institution. The price of gasoline will rise to N1200, which is fatal.
