Siminalayi Fubara’s supporters demonstrated their sympathy with their leader on Monday by taking to the streets of Port Harcourt.

Early on Monday morning, the supporters, who feel that the governor is being victimized because of the Supreme Court’s recent ruling that dismissed council chairmen, took over the Omuma LGA secretariat and other locations.

According to reports, the state’s October 5, 2024, LG election result was declared void by the supreme court on Friday, dealing Fubara a severe setback.

Additionally, the ruling upheld the ruling that prohibited the Accountant General of the Federation and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) from disbursing statutory monthly amounts to the state.

Supporters of the governor were not pleased with the situation and accused Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, of witch-hunting Fubara.
