All Durbar activities have been prohibited by the Kano State Police Command for the 2025 Eid-El-Fitr Sallah celebrations.
Police cited the necessity to keep the peace and security concerns.
This was announced by CP Ibrahim Bakori, the Commissioner of Police, at a press conference held on Friday at the Bompai Police Headquarters.
According to Bakori, the choice was made to provide a calm and safe atmosphere for the festivities.
He claimed that sufficient security had been established to safeguard attendees at the approved locations for Eid prayers.
“As we celebrate, let us remember that peace is paramount. We must put aside our differences and work together as law-abiding citizens for the progress of our state and nation,” Bakori stated.
The police commissioner emphasized that irresponsible driving, automobile racing, and horseback riding (Kilisa) are prohibited during the holiday season.
