Contentious Nigerian musicians Portable and Speed Darlington will compete in a celebrity boxing battle.
The game is scheduled for April 18, 2025, at Lagos State’s Balmoral Convention Center.
The two got into a disagreement in March after Darlington offered Portable N500,000 to play at his upcoming performance, as you may remember.
Darlington was called “poor” by Portable, who called the sum absurd. pointing out that his performance fees are N20 million.
“You are inviting me for a show, and you don’t have money. You use my name to promote your show. I charge N20 million, ask around. I don’t know that you are poor. I don’t want to be friends with poor people”.
Darlington apologized for inviting Portable in his reply. “I regret it because why the insults,” he remarked.
In response, Portable bragged that he would beat Darlington, just like he had done with well-known actor Charles Okocha.
In response to the demands of the netizens, the match has finally been scheduled with the organizer.
Mygamerush, the organizer, posted the following on Instagram to announce the fight: “You asked and now it is here.” The struggle for domination between two street monarchs.
According to reports, Portable defeated actor Okocha in a celebrity boxing bout in December 2023.
