The City Boy Movement (CBM), Abia State Chapter, under the leadership of the State Director, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe, successfully held the inauguration of Local Government Coordinators, their assistants, and executives across the six Local Government Areas of Abia Central Senatorial Zone.

The event brought together key stakeholders and leaders, including the APC Chairman, Umuahia North LGA; APC Chairman, Umuahia South LGA; the CBM State Patron; CBM State Coordinator; City Boy Movement Zonal Coordinator, Abia Central, Chief Uzo; CBM LGA Coordinators and State Executives; as well as former Member of the House of Representatives representing Umuahia North, Umuahia South, and Ikwuano Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Sam Onuigbo.
In his welcome remarks, the Zonal Coordinator, Chief Uzo, described a “City Boy” as any young man or woman who has risen through hard work to achieve success, emphasizing that the movement represents hope for a brighter future. He appreciated the Director, Patron, and leadership of the movement for their support and commended attendees for their presence at the inauguration.
Speaking on behalf of the LGA Coordinators, the Umuahia South Coordinator expressed gratitude to the State Executives for the confidence reposed in them. He assured the leadership of their commitment to effective grassroots mobilization and pledged support toward delivering on national objectives, while calling for unity and collaboration across all levels of the movement.
The State Patron, in his remarks, stressed the importance of national alignment and political inclusion, urging Ndị Igbo to actively support the administration at the center. He noted that increased support would translate into greater representation and opportunities at the federal level.
Rt. Hon. Sam Onuigbo commended the leadership of the City Boy Movement for building a structured platform capable of engaging and empowering young people across the state.
In his keynote address, the State Director, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe, described the inauguration as more than a formal ceremony, stating that it represents a renewed commitment to patriotism, unity, and a shared vision for a prosperous Nigeria under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He emphasized that the City Boy Movement is a grassroots-driven initiative designed to mobilize, empower, and unify young Nigerians across all states, with a clear objective of strengthening youth participation and supporting progressive governance ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Addressing the newly inaugurated executives, the Director charged them to see their roles as a call to duty rather than mere titles. He urged them to build inclusive and effective structures within their respective LGAs and wards, engage communities actively, and ensure that every voice is represented.
The Director also called on traditional rulers, community leaders, political stakeholders, and the people of Abia State to support the movement, noting that collective effort is essential to achieving meaningful development and national progress.
He reaffirmed that the City Boy Movement stands for unity, opportunity, and advancement, with a strong commitment to youth empowerment and sustainable growth.
The event concluded with a renewed sense of purpose among members and stakeholders, as the movement continues to expand its structure and influence across Abia State.
