United States President Donald Trump has warned that Iran could face severe consequences if it fails to sign a peace agreement with the United States.
Trump made the remarks during an interview with Fox News on Sunday and in a post on his Truth Social platform.
He also confirmed that talks are expected to resume in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, on Monday.
“If they don’t sign this deal, the whole country is going to get blown up,” Trump said.
The President further told The New York Post that his advisers, special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, would travel to Islamabad on his behalf for the negotiations.
Trump also indicated that he may personally travel to Islamabad at a later stage, depending on how discussions progress.
“I would say maybe at a little bit later date. We have to see how it works out tomorrow,” he said.
