Members of the African Democratic Congress in Gombe State have called on the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Joash Amupitan, to resign from office.

The demand was made during a peaceful protest held at the INEC office in Gombe, where party supporters gathered to express their concerns.

Protesters carried placards with inscriptions including, “Amupitan: Resign before the street resigns you.”

The demonstration is part of a broader wave of peaceful protests by ADC members in different parts of the country, all calling for the resignation of the electoral body’s chairman.

The protesters accused the INEC chairman of alleged ties with the ruling All Progressives Congress, citing a recently discovered X account purportedly linked to him.
