The political landscape of Aba Central Constituency witnessed a defining moment on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, as renowned philanthropist, grassroots mobilizer, and Founder of Donko Care Foundation, Mr. Roseson Francis Obasi (Donko), officially declared his intention to contest for the Abia State House of Assembly under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) ahead of the 2027 General Elections.

The declaration ceremony, held at CS Park, Aba, attracted a large gathering of party leaders, stakeholders, youths, women, supporters, and members of the APGA family from across the eight wards of Aba Central Constituency. The atmosphere reflected growing enthusiasm and belief in a new political direction centered on purposeful leadership, inclusiveness, and people-oriented representation.

Speaking during the declaration, Mr. Roseson Francis Obasi described his ambition as a call to service inspired by the desire to reposition Aba Central for meaningful growth and sustainable development. He stated that the people of the constituency deserve leadership that understands their struggles, listens to their voices, and delivers practical solutions to their everyday challenges.

He reaffirmed his loyalty and commitment to APGA and appreciated party faithful and supporters for their continued encouragement and confidence in his aspiration.

Drawing from his years of humanitarian service through the Donko Care Foundation, Donko emphasized that his close connection with the grassroots has given him firsthand understanding of the needs of the people, particularly in the areas of youth empowerment, education, welfare, and community development.

He further emphasized his determination to attract meaningful dividends of democracy to Aba Central, benefits which, according to him, have remained absent for far too long. He assured constituents that his leadership would focus on impactful legislation, human capital development, empowerment initiatives, infrastructural advancement, and policies that will directly improve the lives of the people.

According to him, the movement is bigger than politics, describing it as a collective mission to restore hope, strengthen representation, and build a brighter future for Aba Central Constituency.

With the official declaration now made, many supporters and political observers believe a new voice, a new direction, and a new hope has truly emerged for the people of Aba Central.
