A socio-political group under the aegis of Obioma Ngwa Conscience and Equity Movement has strongly condemned the reported attack on the member representing Obingwa/Ugwunagbo/Osisioma Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Munachim Alozie, describing the incident as barbaric, unwarranted, and contrary to the political culture of the area.

In a statement jointly signed by the group’s Coordinator, Dr. Caleb Nwogu, and Secretary, Mr. Chibuike Onyekachi, the group alleged that the lawmaker was attacked by sponsored individuals while attending an event in Obingwa Local Government Area on Thursday, May 14, 2026.

The group said the incident does not reflect the political maturity and bridge-building reputation historically associated with Obingwa Local Government Area.

According to the statement, Hon. Munachim Alozie’s emergence as the representative of the federal constituency was rooted in the long-standing principle of equity and mutual political respect among the three constituent local government areas—Obingwa, Ugwunagbo, and Osisioma Ngwa.

The group recalled that Ugwunagbo Local Government Area, where Hon. Alozie hails from, had previously supported the representation of the other constituent LGAs without hostility or disruption.

It noted that before Alozie’s election in 2023, Hon. Solomon Adaelu from Osisioma Ngwa represented the constituency for two terms spanning eight years from 2015 to 2023, while Hon. Eziuche Ubani from Obingwa served for two terms between 2007 and 2015.

The movement argued that, based on the established rotational understanding and political fairness within the constituency, Hon. Alozie deserves support and encouragement rather than hostility.

“Conscience and equity demand that the good people of Obioma Ngwa support Hon. Munachim Alozie and demand quality representation, rather than embrace actions capable of destroying the political understanding that has sustained harmony in the constituency,” the statement read.

The group called on political stakeholders and residents of Obingwa, Ugwunagbo, and Osisioma Ngwa to preserve the spirit of mutual respect and political balance that has shaped representation in the constituency over the years.

It further declared that supporting Hon. Alozie’s second-term ambition would amount to preserving conscience, fairness, and equity in Obioma Ngwa’s political arrangement.
