National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Nentawe Yilwatda, has stated that he would gladly contribute to internal crises within opposition political parties as part of his responsibility as leader of the ruling party.
Yilwatda made the remarks during a live appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme on Monday.
According to him, the APC is not directly fighting opposition parties such as the African Democratic Congress, ADC, or the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, insisting that the opposition parties are already battling internal divisions.
“You see, the APC is not fighting the African Democratic Congress, ADC, or the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC. They are the ones fighting each other,” he said.
“The self implosion is in the opposition rather than in the APC.”
The APC chairman further admitted that while he may not currently be orchestrating divisions within opposition parties, he would be pleased to do so if the opportunity arose.
“I said there would be implosion in the opposition. I am not orchestrating it but I will be happy if I can do it. That’s my job.
“If you are opposing me, should I be happy to watch you oppose me? I will use any means to oppose back,” Yilwatda added.
