Iran has outlined three major positions regarding the ongoing ceasefire discussions with the United States amid rising diplomatic engagements between both countries.
The Speaker of Iran’s Parliament and head of the country’s negotiating team, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, disclosed this in a statement posted on social media.
According to Ghalibaf, negotiations alone do not secure concessions, insisting that military strength remains a critical factor in international diplomacy.
“Talking does not get us concession but missiles do,” he stated.
He further stressed that Iran does not rely solely on verbal assurances, maintaining that concrete actions remain the only acceptable standard.
Ghalibaf also argued that the true winner in any agreement is the party best prepared for conflict afterward.
“The winner of any agreement is the one who is better prepared for war the next day,” he added.
Strong rhetoric has remained a recurring feature in exchanges between the United States and Iran, with officials from both nations frequently issuing threats while projecting their respective military and political strengths.
Although Ghalibaf remains a significant figure within Iran’s political structure following developments after February 28, he is not regarded as the country’s sole power centre, as multiple influential factions continue to shape decision making within the Iranian system.
