Real Madrid presidential candidate Enrique Riquelme has claimed that agreements are already in place to sign Manchester City stars Erling Haaland and Rodri if he is elected president of the Spanish giants.

Riquelme made the assertion during an interview on El Hormiguero on Wednesday night, outlining his plans ahead of this weekend’s presidential election.

The 37 year old businessman said he is fully committed to delivering on his campaign promises and has backed his pledges with a formal guarantee to club members.

“What I commit to is that, regarding the promises I have made about the two players.

“If I am president of Real Madrid, if I fail to keep any of my promises, I have signed a notarized guarantee in which I commit to paying 100% of the membership fees of all 100,000 Real Madrid members next season,” Riquelme said.

Speaking specifically about Haaland, the presidential hopeful claimed the Norwegian striker has a release clause in his contract and is interested in a move to the Santiago Bernabéu.

“Haaland has a clause in his contract and wants to play for Real Madrid.”

Riquelme’s comments are likely to generate significant interest among Real Madrid supporters, given the long standing speculation linking both Haaland and Rodri with a move away from Manchester City.

The presidential candidate is set to challenge incumbent president Florentino Pérez in the club’s upcoming election, with his campaign largely focused on strengthening Real Madrid’s squad through high profile signings.

Should he emerge victorious, securing the signatures of Haaland and Rodri would rank among the most ambitious transfer moves in European football.
