Former Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, has arrived at the Federal High Court in the state capital for the continuation of proceedings in his ongoing corruption trial.
El Rufai arrived at the court accompanied by officials of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, as well as operatives of the Department of State Services and the Nigeria Police Force.
The case centers on allegations of abuse of office, fraud, and financial misconduct during his tenure as governor of Kaduna State.
According to prosecutors, public funds were allegedly released for projects that were either not executed or were improperly managed.
However, El Rufai has denied all allegations and continues to maintain his innocence.
At Monday’s hearing, the court is expected to entertain further motions and arguments from both the prosecution and defense as proceedings continue.
