The Oyo State Police Command has confirmed the successful rescue of two children abducted in Lanlate town, located in Ibarapa East Local Government Area of the state.
The command also announced the arrest of four suspects linked to the abduction.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade.
According to the statement, the police received a distress report that armed hoodlums invaded Ebinpejo village through Lanlate in Ibarapa East Local Government Area.
The attackers reportedly ransacked several homes, assaulted residents, and abducted two children during the operation.
Following swift police action, the children were rescued and safely returned to their family.
Ayanlade also confirmed that several items were recovered from the suspects as exhibits, adding that the suspects would be charged to court accordingly.
“The two abducted children were rescued safely and promptly taken for medical attention.
“One of the victims sustained injuries during the ordeal but received treatment before both children were successfully reunited with their family,” he stated.
