Rotimi Amaechi, vice presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, is currently in a closed door meeting with former Sokoto State governor, Aminu Tambuwal, in Abuja.

The meeting is coming shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission uploaded the names of Amaechi and the ADC presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, on its portal ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The ADC had earlier officially announced Amaechi as its vice presidential candidate for the 2027 presidential race.

The latest engagement also follows Thursday’s Federal High Court ruling in Abuja, which affirmed the leadership of David Mark as National Chairman of the ADC.

Although details of the closed door discussions remain undisclosed as of press time, political observers believe the meeting may be connected to ongoing consultations and strategic alignments ahead of the 2027 elections.

Earlier, Amaechi also held talks with former Imo State governor, Emeka Ihedioha, further fueling speculation about intensified coalition building within opposition ranks.
