Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has dismissed reports claiming he plans to leave the All Progressives Congress, APC, over the party’s Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 general election.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by his spokesperson, Dr. Dominic Alancha, Dogara described the reports as false and misleading, insisting that he remains a loyal member of the ruling party.

Alancha said the claims were baseless and aimed at creating unnecessary political tension.

He stated that Dogara has neither resigned from the APC nor expressed any intention to leave the party.

The statement accused individuals it described as mischief makers of spreading the rumours in an attempt to create division within the APC.

It added that Dogara remains committed to strengthening the party ahead of the 2027 elections and is working closely with party leaders and supporters across the country.

According to the statement, the former Speaker is fully committed to supporting the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and ensuring the APC secures victory in the 2027 general election.

Dogara also urged the public and the media to disregard unverified reports and rely only on official statements regarding his political position.
