United States President Donald Trump has dismissed reports claiming the country is running low on munitions amid the ongoing conflict with Iran.
Speaking in an interview with The Wall Street Journal on Sunday, Trump rejected the claims, insisting that the United States has more than enough military resources.
“We possess significantly more munitions than any other country globally, and far more than we require,” Trump said.
The remarks followed a report by the newspaper alleging that General Dan Caine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, had informed the White House about declining stockpiles of air defence interceptors.
Meanwhile, Trump also shared artificial intelligence generated images on his Truth Social platform depicting attacks on Iranian facilities.
The images appeared to portray the capture of an Iranian oil tanker and an attack on Iran’s Kharg Island oil export terminal.
One of the images showed Trump aboard a tanker flying the United States flag, while another depicted fighter jets striking the Kharg Island facility.
