Nigerians on social media have resurfaced an old video showing former Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha dancing with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, following a court ruling affecting Governor Hope Uzodinma’s senatorial candidacy.
The development comes after a Federal High Court on Thursday reportedly disqualified Uzodinma as the All Progressives Congress candidate for the 2027 Imo West Senatorial District election and directed the Independent National Electoral Commission to replace his name with that of Okorocha.
The court reportedly held that Okorocha was the rightful winner of the APC primary election conducted in May 2026.
The ruling has generated widespread reactions across social media, with some Nigerians suggesting possible connections between the decision and the influence of powerful political figures.
Following the judgment, users on X and Facebook circulated a video showing Wike and Okorocha dancing and celebrating together. The footage has triggered fresh discussions about the relationship between the two politicians.
Wike and Uzodinma had recently experienced a political disagreement following Uzodinma’s opposition to the Rainbow Coalition.
