Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, has disclosed his close family relationship with former Anambra governor and Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate, Peter Obi, despite their differing political interests.
Soludo made the revelation during an interview with BBC Igbo News, explaining that his friendship with Obi extends beyond politics to their families.
He disclosed that Obi’s wife is his daughter’s godmother, while his own wife serves as godmother to Obi’s daughter.
The governor, however, stressed that their close personal relationship has not translated into shared political interests, noting that they now have different visions for politics.
Soludo did not provide details about what led to the differences in their political positions.
“We are close friends, and our families are also very close. His wife is my daughter’s godmother, while my wife is his daughter’s godmother.
“But when it comes to politics, we have different visions,” Soludo said.
