Seko Fofana, Cote d’Ivoire midfielder has labelled the Super Eagles a “big opponent” and warned his teammates they must work hard for victory.

The Elephants recorded a comfortable 2-0 victory against the Djurtus of Guinea-Bissau in their first leg.

The 2023 hosts will, however, face a more difficult test against three-time winners Nigeria.

The Super Eagles are desperate for victory after claiming a draw against Equatorial Guinea in their opening fixture

Fofana reckoned Jean-Louis Gasset’s men must brace up for a tough battle against their fellow West Africans.

“I know how decisive this match is, Nigeria wants to win this match and they are a very big opponent,” the powerful midfielder, who was named Man of the Match in Cote d’Ivoire’s win against Guinea-Bissau told CAFonline.

“We are ready, there is no doubt about it. It will be up to us to approach the match with the right spirit and work hard for victory.”
