Mikel Arteta has reportedly urged Arsenal FC to sign Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa FC during the summer transfer window.
According to talkSPORT, Arteta is eager to strengthen his squad following Arsenal’s Premier League title triumph and sees Rogers as a key addition ahead of next season.
The report stated that Arsenal have already held preliminary talks with the player’s representatives as they seek to beat rivals Chelsea FC and Manchester United FC to his signature.
Arteta is said to be “leading the drive” for the England midfielder, viewing his potential arrival at the Emirates Stadium as a major statement of intent after the club’s successful campaign.
The 23 year old enjoyed an impressive season under Unai Emery, helping Aston Villa win the UEFA Europa League and secure qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
