AS Roma have confirmed that Paulo Dybala and Nahuel Molina will not be released to travel to Argentina for Lionel Messi’s farewell match.
The farewell game against Benin Republic is scheduled to take place on October 6.
Roma cited the long distance involved and logistical concerns as reasons for refusing to release the two Argentina internationals for the fixture.
Dybala and Molina are instead expected to remain with the club and begin team training ahead of Roma’s Serie A fixture against Como on October 11.
Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development in a post on X.
“AS Roma state they will not let Dybala and Molina travel to Argentina for Leo Messi’s farewell game on October 6.
“No intention to allow an international, long travel due to logistics, with Dybala and Molina to be in team training next week.”
