“To address Nigeria’s economic issues, President Bola Tinubu has urged cooperation between state governors and the federal government.
This was stated in a speech made on Thursday at the State House in Abuja during the governors’ break of the Ramadan fast. Ajuri Ngelale is the president’s spokeswoman.
President Tinubu stressed the need of moving from politics to governance and underlined the necessity of collaboration and unity among all parties involved.
“Since we recognize the need to build our nation together, the time for politics is over. It is now time for governance.
“We are of the same family and parents, living in the same house but sleeping in different rooms. We must cooperate and spread love among each other,” the President said.
President Tinubu called on Nigerians to use this important occasion for introspection, prayer, and acts of kindness toward others, highlighting the significance of the holy month of Ramadan and the Lenten season for Christians.
While acknowledging the issues facing the country, he was upbeat about the future, pointing out that the problems are starting to react to the measures his administration is doing to address them.
“I am glad that the headwinds are almost over. The tunnel is not as dark as when we started. It is going to be brighter and brighter. We must communicate with each other, stick together, and share joy,” the President said.
AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the governor of Kwara State and chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, praised the Federal Government for delivering 42,000 tons of grains and emphasized the value of cooperative efforts between the national and sub-national governments in tackling shared difficulties.
Regarding the payment of wage awards to workers, the governor promised that the states will act morally.
“Wet season farming is almost here, and I want to implore all governors to engage in the farming business so that we can all appreciate the challenges of ordinary farmers and ensure that we have a bumper harvest at the end of the farming season,” the NGF Chairman said.
