In Abagana, Njikoka Local Government Area, Anambra State, on Wednesday, a speeding car lost control and crashed into Oye Agu Market, leaving an unknown number of people believed dead.
Although there are currently no details available regarding the crash, sources claim that many others may have also lost their lives and that goods were damaged.
Social media users have been able to view a video of the tragedy that shows the crashed Sienna and several of the vendors who are thought to have been crushed to death.
Traders typically set up shop by the side of the road to offer food goods.
Damaged tomatoes and other food products are also seen in the viral video.
Engineer Ben Okongwu, the President-General of the Abagana community, verified the occurrence and stated that at least three individuals had died.
He claimed that the driver’s lack of control caused the collision.
Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) spokeswoman for the Anambra State Command, RC Margaret Onabe, stated she was unaware of the event.
